About You

1. What is your name?

Name (Required)
Lawrence William Dolling

Elected representatives

6. Members of Parliament are elected to represent local people’s interests in the House of Commons. How can the internet and social media help with this?

Comment:
How on earth can you have John Bercow on this commitee he is the same person that protected M.P.'s that were fiddling their expenses . Totally has no trust or meaning to the vast majority of people !!!!!!!!!!

7. Does social media enhance the local link for MPs, or undermine it by involving them in more national and international discussions?

Comment:
You would do better to make it illegal for M.P's to lie and to answer the questions asked and not keep dodging the issues

8. Use of interactive technology is increasing. Is this likely to increase pressure for more direct democracy, such as crowd-sourcing, referendums and citizens’ initiatives?

Comment:
If it did you lot would take no notice of the man in the street !!!

9. What will democracy look like in 15 – 20 years?

Comment:
What democracy, governments have never listened to the people and still don't. Only last week the environment minister took it upon himself to let a corporation called Sygenta use a pesticide that had been banned previously because it killed bees it was only through protest this was stopped . Has Owen been sacked no i don't think so !!!!

Information about politics

10. Most people still get most of their news from television, although this seems to be changing in favour of online information. Traditional news organisations are also changing. What impact will this have on elections and democracy in general?

Comment:
Nothing apart from corporations getting more involved with the press and owning more of them , to influence people with what they want rather than what is good for the country and it's citizens . And politicians seem only to happy to go along with them !!!!!!

11. How can online provision of information about elections be improved, including details of where to vote, how to vote and the results?

Comment:
By telling the truth !!!!

Political campaigning

12. Can we expect continuous election campaigning through digital channels – what would citizens feel about that and would it undermine or strengthen representative democracy?

Comment:
90% of the electorate turn political party broadcasts off or do other things . They do realize they will only be lied too !!!
